Montry Cook began the Cook enterprise hauling salt for various municipalities and customers in the 1930’s. Montry incorporated Cook Paving and Construction on March 31st, 1950 and was joined by his son Thomas. Together they expanded the business and became certified at state and local levels as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).What started with humble roots as a material hauler, Cook Paving and Construction expanded its services as the years went on. The company started its growth by offering asphalt paving services. It is with this service that Cook was able to launch into most civil construction crafts including underground utility installation, site development, and concrete paving.Cook Paving and Construction has enjoyed a very rich contracting history throughout Northeast Ohio. Some of our most memorable experiences include being the first MBE certified company to win a prime construction contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), paving the warning track of Jacob’s Field (now Progressive Field), and building the Lake Rd. Substation Expansion for Cleveland Public Power.

Cook has been fortunate enough to have strong leadership throughout its history, starting with Montry and Thomas. Thomas hired both Richard A. Rogers and Dave Cabbil, who would become partners of the firm. Richard A. Rogers became president of the company when Thomas retired and Michael Alex joined the firm in the early 90’s as Vice President. Michael would serve as Vice President until the day he passed in 2015. Long time team member Linda Fletcher became President of Cook Paving & Construction in 2011. She currently guides the Cook team to success with her partner Keith Rogers, grandson of Richard Rogers.

The long term success and continued growth is greatly attributed to each Cook Team member. Each employee is considered to be a part of the Cook Family. Linda and Keith take pride in building on our legacy as an industry and community leader. The mission of Cook has remained consistent dating back to the Montry and Thomas days; we value establishing long term relationships with our customers built on Safety, Service, and Integrity.
